The Ultimate Guide to DUI Evaluations in Colorado:
What to Expect, Costs and How to Restore Your License
What is a DUI Evaluation in Colorado?
A DUI Evaluation is a court-ordered or DMV-required assessment of your substance use history, mental health, and driving
behavior. It’s typically mandated after an arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or Driving While Ability Impaired
(DWAI) in Colorado.
These evaluations are conducted by certified professionals and determine the level of education or treatment needed.
Results are submitted to the client directly and the client may opt to share these results with the court, probation office,
DMV or anyone else as the client decides.

Who Needs a Drug & Alcohol Assessment?
You may be required to complete a DUI evaluation if you have:
A first-time or repeat DUI/DWAI offense
A deferred sentence or plea deal
A request for license reinstatement after revocation
A court or probation office mandate
This evaluation is often a first step toward regaining driving privileges and demonstrating accountability. Keep in mind that
in the state of Colorado your suspension status is shared with all 50 states.
What to Expect During Your Evaluation
At Colorado Assessments, the evaluation includes:
A clinical interview with a certified addiction specialist
A review of your driving record and if applicable you can also share your arrest report
A standardized questionnaire including the SASSI-4, ASI and other tools may be leveraged
A mental health and substance use history review
Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes and may be completed virtually or in person, depending on requirements. After the
evaluation summary a professional assessment which is a signed evaluation report is provided back to you, our client. You
are then able to share the report with others.
How Much Does a DUI Evaluation Cost?
At Colorado Assessments, the cost of the report is $350. This includes the clinical evaluation and the time required to
prepare and deliver your report in a timely manner. Expedited options are available if you need it sooner. A full pricing guide
